Welcome to the new female script consultant website and blog

Hi and welcome to my all new website.

Alison Pennells Female Script Consultant

My name is Alison Pennells and I’m a scriptwriter , producer, playwright and novelist from Leeds.

I’ve written award winning short films, worked as a TV soap storyline writer and I was a core episode writer on Emmerdale and The Royal Today.

I’ve had screenplays optioned in L.A. and spent a period working in Hollywood on a project alongside actress Rita Tushingham.

For many years I was a trusted reader for ITV and Granada TV and helped assess new material for the broadcaster.

I’m launching the website to help promote my forthcoming novels and my services as a  female script consultant, helping new writers get their screenplays up to scratch so they can be successfully submitted to agents, and TV production companies.

There are quite a few male script consultants operating in the UK market, but there are far fewer female script consultant’s offering a woman’s perspective on scripts and screenplays. So, I’m hoping to change that and offer something new to the market.

I’ll be updating this website and blog regularly,, so please keep checking back.
